Karen is appointed to the Boards of HSBC Bank Singapore Limited, Manulife US Real Estate Management Pte Ltd, SGX-listed Banyan Tree Holdings, Red Pencil Singapore and BC Platforms AG, a world leader in genomic data management. Previous board appointments include Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation, EDB Investments, Singapore, Falck, Denmark, the largest privately-owned global ambulance and emergency services provider; and the Corporation of Northeastern University, Boston USA. Karen was Deputy CEO of SingHealth from 2001-8, then Singapore’s largest public delivery network, and concurrently Deputy CEO of Singapore General Hospital from 2003. |

Elbert retired as the Chief Risk Officer of DBS Group Holdings in 2018, where he was responsible for the management of credit, market, liquidity and operational risks. Prior to this, he was Managing Director and Head of Specialised Corporate and Investment Banking, responsible for DBS’ corporate and investment banking activities. He has more than three decades of experience in the banking industry and has held progressively senior positions at Barclays Bank, ABN Amro, and ING Group before joining DBS. Between 31 Jan 2012 and 17 Mar 2015, Elbert was DBS’ nominee Director to Clifford Capital and the Risk Committee Chairman between Dec 2012 and Mar 2015. |
