Technological change—including AI, machine learning, big data, robotics, IoT, and 3D printing— has become a major concern for Indian leaders, with 63% of them ranking it as a top-five threat to organizational health, up from #2 ranking to #1 over the past 6 months. However, only 50% of these leaders report being prepared to address this challenge, a decrease from 56% 6 months ago. The swift advancements in generative AI and the resulting information deluge have significantly contributed to this lack of preparedness. This trend of growing unpreparedness is also observed globally.
In India, 62% of leaders cite the availability of key talent and skills a critical issue. Despite consistently ranking among the top two threats since 2021, only 37% of leaders feel prepared to address this gap, a 12% percentage point decrease vs. 6 months ago.
